Altrusa is an international non-profit organization making our local communities better through leadership, partnership, and service.
Altrusa Lake Cities offers an opportunity to make a real difference in our community. We set ourselves apart from other local service organizations by focusing on hands-on service. Past service projects including working with Boys and Girls Clubs, The Rainbow Room, Women in Need, Helping Hands, and Patriot Paws.
We undertake a variety of service, literacy, fundraising and international projects each year and are always open to new projects.
We are seeking team members to join our organization and make a difference in our community. Our members are from varying occupations and lifestyles, all sharing an interest in community service and enjoying the friendship, fun and satisfaction that comes from working together for the benefit of others

Members AJ Santiago, Wendy Newman Santiago and Lee Scruggs of Altrusa Lake Cities attended Altrusa International District Nine District Conference in Grapevine, Texas. Congratulations to President Wendy Newman Santiago for being selected as Membership Chair for the 2019-2021 District Nine Program Team.
February 13, 2019 – Member, Shirley Raymer, speaking to the Royse City Chamber of Commerce Networking Breakfast about Altrusa Lake Cities and the difference we make in the local community.
Members of Altrusa Lake Cities, along with Alex Santiago made tugs for Patriot Paws during their April business meeting. The tugs are used by the Patriot Paws service animals to open and close various doors. About 20 tugs were donated to Patriot Paw on May 9, 2019.
Make a Difference Day 2018! Along with our brother and sister Altrusan’s in Dallas and Lewisville, we hosted a kitchen shower for the Vet House for Patriot Paws.
After attending Patriot Paws’ graduation ceremony earlier in the day, we can all attest to the great work Patriot Paws does for our vets and our community!
7/26/2018 – Members of Altrusa Lake Cities, TX donated 50 backpacks to The Rockwall Rainbow Room to provide for incoming children throughout the school year!
During our meeting, we made coloring books and crayon packs for children in emergency rooms, urgent care, or hospital rooms.
We were so honored to have Friends of the Rockwall Library speak to us about all their accomplishments and projects. We hope to build a partnership with Friends in the near future.
We also stamped and sorted 5 boxes of books donated by Half Price Books in Rockwall.
We were able to initiate our newest member, Crystal Franklin
